Are you a primary processor or
distributor?
Both, we own our own fleets and predominately
sell catch from our own boats. However, in the case of
our smoked salmon line,
we purchase premium product from farms in southern Chile.
No matter the source, all Isla del Rey products undergo
rigorous quality control inspections and testing before
they enter our plants and at the time of shipping. We
are serious about our reputation and quality. It is not
by accident that our operations maintains the highest
international quality control certification. Where do you distribute your product?
Our production is exported to the United States and Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Does your company abide by any
international treaty or fishing quotas?
Absolutely, we fully adhere to international
norms regarding sustainable environment. Our fleets abide
by the Chilean national and international norms for fishing
as well as by the Convention
on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources.
How do we know that your products
are pure and uncontaminated?
The pristine waters off the coast
of southern Chile are famous for their uncontaminated
characteristics. Close to Antarctica, the cold deep waters
are a heaven for many marine species. However, to secure that all products are 100% safe and fit for human consumption, all Isla del Rey`s products are tested and monitored by our Quality Department and by Independent Certified Laboratories. So
you can rest assured that all Isla del Rey products are
pure and delicious.
How do we know your products are
fresh?
Our own fleets harvest and deliver
their catch to our processing plants. We control the
quality and the processing and do not accept anything
but the best. Our own staff of quality control biologists
is dedicated to maintaining the highest international
standards. Our products are tested by independent and
internal laboratories for purity and freshness. What is the minimum order?
Many

What quality control standards
does Chile require?
Chile is a country with
a vested interest in protecting its rich agricultural wealth.
It is no accident that diseases such as Mad Cow Disease
and Phylloxera are non-existent as well as the absence
of pests like the devastating fruit fly. The government
maintains very, very strict quality control standards and
import export regulations. In the case of the fishing industry, SERNAPESCA (Department
of Fisheries,) has established a program called "PAC".
Program for the Assurance of Quality; similar in many ways
to the FDA's HACCP program, the agency performs monthly
inspections of all certified fish processing plants. Isla
del Rey has achieved the highest rating for years. We are
serious about quality and your customers will taste the
results. Are your products Kosher certified?
Our smoked salmon and trout lines are Certified
Kosher Parve by the London
Federation of Synagogues.
How do you ship?
We ship in accordance with your
specifications; we ship by air, ocean freight container,
land transport or a combination of the above.
Do you ship fresh?
Yes, we do - depending on the availability
of the product – via overnight delivery.
What is your policy regarding glazing?
We glaze frozen fillets and crab to protect them from drying
and to keep them fresher. We use compensative glazing that means you never
pay for the weight of the glazing
