Origin
Kingklip inhabit a depth range of 20 to 800 meters, being
mainly found in waters between 300m to 500m off the
coast
of Chile. They also are found in the southwest Pacific
waters of New Zealand and temperate Australia. They
inhabit a variety
of substrates from rocky ground to soft sand and mud, in
which they burrow. We typically catch them by drop
lining
and bottom set long lining. Once caught, they are delivered
cleaned to our processing plant where they are shipped
fresh
or blast frozen. This fish is available year round. At
Isla del Rey we are committed to the sustainable cultivation
of marine products and respect the quotas established
for
this fish.
